Mali Rock Art Site

Bandiagara Cliffs - Land of the Dogon. The Bandiagara Plateau is located in rural Mali about 80 kms east of Mopti. The sandstone cliffs at the edge of this plateau are very dramatic and are known today for the Dogon people who live at the base of them and for their colorful rock paintings which they renew on a regular basis. The Dogon have inhabited the area for around 500 years.Bandiagara is a World Heritage Site.
