On 10th and 11th August, the Getty Conservation Institute/Southern African Rock Art Project (SARAP) organised an Assessment and Planning Meeting at the Origins Centre in Johannesburg. TARA was ably represented at the meeting by Alec Campbell, Janette Deacon, George Abungu, David Coulson and Terry Little.

The objectives of the meeting were to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the programme with a view to planning for future activities, and to secure an agreement about contributions from prospective partner organisations for the 2010-2012 period. More importantly, the meeting presented the results of an assessment of the activities and workshops of GCI / SARAP between 2005 to 2008.
