Mark Oneill

2009 Interns

Mark was born in Dublin, Ireland, where he studied Classical and Biblical History at the University of Dublin, Trinity College. He is currently a student of the International Masters Degree in Museology at the Reinwardt Academie in Amsterdam. Mark joins TARA from July 2009 for a four-month internship to work on community based projects. He believes strongly that heritage can act as an empowering factor for individuals and communities, and he hopes that his time at TARA will contribute to his proposed thesis - on the relationship between local stakeholders and "Universal Heritage".

Emmanuel Nyange

Emmanuel Nyange continues his internship with TARA's Digital Archive. Emmanuel, a graphic designer, has a diploma in graphic design and media studies from Mombasa Polytechnic. Currently, he is assisting in digital development of a virtual museum design and preparing artwork for panel displays depicting some of the existing rock art in Northern Kenya; this will be exhibited at the Nairobi National Museum. Emmanuel is keen to learn about rock art and gain more exposure and experience as he contributes to TARA's Digital Archive.

Joseph Weche

Joseph Weche is an aspiring graphic designer. He joined TARA in August 2008 as a volunteer at the 'Dawn of Imagination' exhibition at the Nairobi National Museum, and is now the Communications Assistant at TARA headquarters. His duties include updating the TARA website and mailing list, contact maintenance, merchandise stock taking, inventory management, liaising with TARA merchandise outlets, and file management.

Geoffrey Ageng'o

Geoffrey Ageng'o is a community development facilitator and an environmental conservationist with a keen interest in education. He holds a Diploma in Community Development studies and a Certificate in Environmental Journalism and Communication from the Daystar University. He was involved with the National Museums of Kenya's Interactive Public Programmes Project in 2007 as an Education Programmes Facilitator; he has also been with TARA as volunteer at the 'Dawn of Imagination Exhibition' at the Nairobi National Museum since March 2008.Geoffrey is now based at TARA headquarters, and is attached to the EPA-funded exhibition animation project.
